Some projects we’re part of
Abingdon Street Market - Blackpool
We worked closely with Blackpool Council to reimagine and deliver the transformation of Abingdon Street Market, right in the heart of Blackpool town centre. Our involvement spanned every stage of the project — from venue design and layout planning to full project management and implementation. The goal was to breathe new life into a historic market space and create a dynamic, modern venue that supports independent business, drives footfall, and adds long-term value to the town centre.
Now operated by Little Blackpool Leisure, co-owned and directed by Andy Shields, the market is home to seven food vendors, two bars, and fourteen retail traders. It employs over 40 local staff and welcomes more than 250,000 visitors each year from across Blackpool and beyond.
Andsome TAilored Barbering
We acquired and fully renovated a previously disused premises on Edward Street in central Blackpool, transforming the site through a complete building redesign and structural overhaul. From initial concept to delivery, we led the development planning, project management, and full implementation to bring the space back into productive use.
As part of that vision, we partnered with a talented local entrepreneur to invest in and launch Andsome Tailored Barbering — a premium barbershop brand with a focus on craftsmanship, service and design. What began as a start-up is now one of Blackpool’s most popular and highly regarded barbers, building a loyal customer base and a strong local reputation.
Common Bar & Kitchen
We acquired and completely redeveloped a vacant premises on Edward Street in Blackpool, transforming it into a vibrant hospitality space with a brand-new floorplan designed specifically to accommodate a full commercial kitchen and restaurant. The project involved a complete internal redesign, structural upgrades, and full project management to deliver a high-quality venue that could support an exciting new food and drink concept in the heart of the town centre.
Now operated by Little Blackpool Leisure, Common Bar & Kitchen has become a go-to hotspot in Blackpool, known for its bold interiors and South American-inspired street food menu. With a strong local following and growing visitor appeal, the venue plays a key role in the revitalisation of the Edward Street area and continues to showcase the power of creative investment in shaping the town’s independent hospitality scene.

At Isla Nublar Fylde Coast Investments, we’re not just investors – we’re part of the community.
Founded by Andy Shields and Rhiannon Lloyd Davies, we live and work in Lytham, raising our young family while supporting exciting, purpose-driven projects across the Fylde Coast. We believe that meaningful investment starts with people – and that every good idea deserves a shot at success.
Originally from Blackpool, Andy is a local entrepreneur with a creative background in design, marketing and product development. He is the co-founder of:

Andy brings a creative and commercial perspective to investments in the Fylde Coast, helping local projects scale and thrive.
Rhiannon is a former speech and language therapist who now specialises in project delivery, customer service and community-led initiatives. She is embedded in the local community, teaching yoga classes for mums to be, and her passion lies in helping people and places grow with purpose.
Together, we live in Lytham with our children Otis and Remi, and our black dog Ripley. Our downtime includes exploring the coast, discovering the best oat milk lattes, and an intense love of Scrabble.
